XRInstall v. 1.04 of 21 Jan 1993. (see "NEWIN510.DOC" for updates...)
To install XRS on a hard disk system, simply collect the required files,
extract "XRInstal.Exe" from the main XRS510.ZIP archive, and then type
'XRInstal'. If you have a floppy-only PC, you should follow the
instructions given in "2FLOPPY.XRS" instead! XRS does -not- require a
hard disk, but using the install program does!
AGAIN: SIMPLY PLACE NEEDED FILES ON ANY DRIVE AND TYPE "XRINSTAL".
*ALL* Installations require "XRS510.ZIP" (which you already have)!
PC & XT (not 80286 or higher) computers require "XRS510XT.ZIP".
Selecting "Options" allows you to optionally install 'XRConfig' (which
requires "XRCFG104.ZIP"), leave the main documentation compressed and/
or install the '386 version (if usable and available "X386V510.ZIP").
EVEN IF YOU ARE A "SEASONED" XRS VETERAN: you should use 'XRInstal' to
update your XRS installation automatically! All users should install
the new 'XRConfig.Exe' configuration program for extended ease-of-use
and ability to set/change parameters permanently from inside XRS (or
as a 'freestanding' program).
** NOTE **
One caution: If you have customized "RESP*.BAT", it will be overwritten
by the installation procedure, since memory requirements change slightly
for each new version of XRS. If you have one you want preserved, rename
it to "XRS.BAT" or something similar before running 'XRInstal'!
